SHANKLIN - 0
SWINDON Town beat Shanklin in the FA Women’s Premier League Division One South West by five goals to nil to inflect the first away defeat on the Islanders.
The Town took the lead in the 27th minute when Meg Vella split the Shanklin defence to find Ellie Maynard who ran onto score. Five minutes later Chyna Collings nodded in Michelle Rich’s corner to double the Town’s advantage. With the second half four minutes old Meg Vella smacked in a loose ball following a goalmouth scramble. Sarah Uzzell got onto the score sheet when she coolly knocked in Meg Vella’s low cross and the Town took their tally to five when a defender turned Alice Smith’s shot from a tight angle into the net.
The win means that the Town go into the Christmas break in top spot.
