(Swindon win 5-4 on penalties)

SWINDON Town move into the next round of the Women’s FA Cup by beating Larkhall Athletic on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes in Somerset.

Both sides began cautiously but it was the Town that created the better openings and it was only good goalkeeping by home 'keeper Nicki O’Connell that prevented Meg Vella and Beth Thompson from scoring. Robyn Levett in the Town’s goal did well to save from Liz Bannett.

There were few chances created in the second half with defences keeping a tight reign on opposing forwards. The Town’s back line was well-marshalled by Sam Quinn in the centre of the Town’s defence. Play continued during the two periods of extra time with neither side able to score.

The Town won the resulting penalty shootout winning by five goals to four with Michelle Rich, Beth Thompson, Lisa Coe, Sam Quinn and Chenise Austin all converting from the spot.
