Byrne: We weren't good enough

25 February 2014

NATHAN Byrne admitted that Town were not happy with themselves after the 1-1 draw with Crawley at The County Ground.

"It was very frustrating," he said. "We weren't good enough. We tried to play good football and we know if we keep the ball well enough we'll create chances.

"In the second half we picked up and improved. We had a chance to score then 10 seconds later it was in our net."

Byrne went on to reveal the extent of his contribution to Town's goal: "I got a touch but so did he," he said. "I'll take it, of course."

He continued: "We've played a few formations and we know what we're doing just on the ball tonight we weren't happy with ourselves."

"I try and get forward wherever I can. The manager said to get the ball to me and 'Barch' quickly; in the second half it did and that's where the goal came from.

"It was a chance missed tonight but there are still games left - a lot can change in that time."
