Cooper on fixture move

11 February 2014

MARK Cooper has urged Swindon supporters to stick with the team during Friday night's fixture against Colchester United.

Speaking to the official website, the Town Manager revealed the reasons behind the match being moved.

He explained: "Obviously the FA had a big part in the game being moved to this Friday because both teams have got to have a similar amount of rest and to play Saturday and then again on Monday is a big ask. So, the FA and the clubs decided that the best option would be to play on Friday night.

"Both Peterborough and ourselves had to play on the same day which is why Peterborough are playing as well."

"We understand it’s not the best situation for the fans but there was a big push from the FA for it to be on the Friday night so I hope the supporters can stick with us and we can give them something to shout about on Friday," he continued. "We’ve got two really big games coming up and the Colchester game gives us an opportunity to get closer to the Play-Offs."
