Ladies' Weekend Preview

27 February 2014

SWINDON Town Ladies are hoping to play again on Sunday after a break of three weeks due to opponents' postponed cup ties that have taken priority, writes Roger Reeves.

The Town are to entertain Exeter City in the South West Combination League and it will be their first home fixture since 8th December. The Town have kept top spot although the chasing pack have games in hand. Exeter City are currently in sixth place. When the two sides met in Devon earlier in the season, the Town won by four goals to one.

Manager Jason Brizell said: "Everyone is buzzing and ready to get back into League action. Training has been good and last week’s result against Women’s Super League side Oxford United has given everyone a lift.

"Exeter are a good side and have always given us a good game. We have got to take one game at a time and, although we have played more games than others who are challenging for the title, we have got the points and have got to keep the pressure on them."
