'Players were astronomical'

5 February 2014

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the assembled media after the 2-2 draw at Peterborough.

On the performance...
I'm so proud of the Football Club. The supporters were first class and the players were astronomical in terms of effort and the football they played. The only disappointment is that we haven't won the game with ten men. We were outstanding.

On the result...
We should have won the game simple as that. We haven't done but we've set it up for an interesting and exciting tie in two weeks.

On goals conceded...
They were 2-0 up without doing anything; they hadn't laid a glove on us. We'd worked on the conditions and we took too many chances.

On goals scored...
The first goal was outstanding. The ball from Louis (Thompson) to Nile (Ranger) then a fantastic finish.

On the red card...
It was harsh. Jay's eyes never left the football and the guy has ducked into it. There were some strange decisions again; some decisions that went against us were wrong.
