Wes: concentration cost us

18 February 2014

WES Foderingham believes a lapse in concentration cost Swindon against Peterborough on Monday night.

Town missed out on a place at Wembley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final on spot kicks and the Swindon stopper says that the cup exit was disappointing after a composed performance.

"Looking at the game itself, it was disappointing how we let them back in," he told the media post-match. "I felt we controlled most of the game but didn't concentrate for 90 minutes.

"I think we defended well and broke quickly but a lack of concentration and a sloppy goal; that's what cost us. We started really well and I thought it looked like a good, composed performance, just that one slip-up has cost us."

As the game went to penalties, Foderingham revealed that he was feeling the pressure between the sticks.

"I felt like I needed to do a job," he said. "I did my homework beforehand and it paid off for one of them but you don't get the rub of the green sometimes."
