Pritchard's FITC visit

31 January 2014

YESTERDAY evening saw Swindon Town’s Alex Pritchard visit one of the Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust PAN Disability sessions.

Held at Swindon Academy on Thursdays, the session is delivered to children with acute physical disabilities and special educational needs. As published last week, the Community Trust have invited the Swindon Town players to become Trust Project Ambassadors with Alex the next in line to be unveiled as part of a fantastic Football League Trust and Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA) initiative. Alex was delighted to be unveiled as the Community Trust’s Disability Ambassador for the season.

Clive Maguire, STFITC Joint Trust Manager, who leads on the Disability programme said: “Alex’s visit was truly inspirational to the children which saw him join in the coaching session led by our Community Coach, Allan Minns. Alex joined in with great enthusiasm and it was really good to see how the children responded to his empathy and understanding, but most of all their enthusiasm to show him what they were capable of.

"I’d like to thank Karen Randall at STFC for also attending the session with Alex which will be something the young participants will remember for a long time.”
