Report: Yate 0-2 Town

11 July 2014

TOWN kicked off their pre-season schedule with a 2-0 victory at Yate Town.

Two goals in the second half sealed a winning start to the 2014/15 preparations for Mark Cooper's men.

In a cagey first half, Ben Gladwin had arguably the visitors' best chance when his driving run early on forced a good save from the goalkeeper

After nine changes at the break, Swindon made the breakthrough shortly after the re-start when a low cross from the right came all the way through to trialist, Celvin Kalinga, who took one touch to control the ball before firing it into the back of the net.

Then, with virtually the last kick of the game, a sweeping move forward ended with Connor Waldon picking out Massimo Luongo. The Australian, fresh from his experience at the World Cup in Brazil, tucked away Town's second of the evening to secure the win.
