SWINDON Town Ladies have announced the appointment of Steve Robertson as the new First Team Manager.
Robertson takes over from Jason Brizzell and will be assisted by fellow Football In The Community Coach, Shane Hewlett and Kim Reeves. Brizzell will now take charge of the Ladies’ new-look Development Squad.
Speaking to swindontownfc.co.uk, the new manager said: “I’m so happy to have been offered the opportunity to take on the Swindon Town Ladies First Team. I’d like to thank Jason Brizzell for all his hard work last year and I hope to continue improving and pushing the First Team for promotion.
“I’ve been working hard in preparation for pre-season organising friendlies with teams all across the South West and Wales from the league above and I’m excited to see how the girls respond to these tests so early on in the season. I’m looking forward to working with Shane Hewlett who has years of experience with the Girls Centre for Excellence programme and am hopeful this year could bring great things to the club.”
Shane Hewlett also commented on his new role within the Swindon Town Ladies set-up.
“I’m delighted Steve’s taken the job,” he said. “I’m looking forward to working with him over the season with our aim of strengthening the team and gaining promotion. It’s a really exciting period for Swindon Town Ladies with the introduction of Steve, as well as our new Development Squad ”
