Cooper: Desire and energy

25 March 2014

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon's victory at Tranmere.

On the victory...
We showed desire, energy and no small matter of some good football. Put those three together and you can win the game.

On changes to the starting line-up...
Obviously Troy's knee was sore so we brought Branco into the team and he acquitted himself well.

On the performance...
We didnt play well in the first half. There were a few choice words at half time. They needed to be better with the ball and stop giving Tranmere encouragement. Apart from the opening minutes of the second half I thought we controlled the possession.

On Alex Smith's goal...
He scored a couple like that in pre-season so we knew he had that in his locker. We didn't gain the goal out of nothing. We were lackasdaisical in the first half.

On Miles Storey's goal...
He told me he meant it. I thought we were due one of them because we haven't had a lot of luck. When you work as hard as Miles has done tonight, you deserve that.
