'Outstanding second half'

11 March 2014

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after the defeat to Wolves.

On the performance...
I don't think you can play against a club like Wolves, with the financial riches they have and the players they have, with 11 men not pulling in the same direction. In the second half when we had 11 people all fighting for the cause and rolling their sleeves up, they were outstanding. We could have easily got blown away but full credit to the boys that were on the pitch.

On goals conceded...
Teams know we're not blessed with pace at the back. They wait until we give the ball away then stick the ball behind us. Then the likes of Sako and Dicko cause us problems. We didn't defend well down the pitch - we've got to address things going forward.

On the second half performance...
We made a change at half time, changed the system and asked the players to go and win the second half and gain a moral victory which is what we did. For vast periods of the second half we were outstanding. When we changed the shape we gave the centre backs a bit more protection and some of the football was good.
