'We should have killed it off"

8 March 2014

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after the home defeat to MK Dons.

On the result...
I thought in the first half we deserved to be winning. We should have killed it off but we looked tired in the second half. We dropped too deep and conceded too much ground. We conceded from a free header from a corner then we try and win the game and leave ourselves exposed.

On league position...
If we're honest that's where we are - we're not quite there yet and didn't have that killer instinct to go finish it. We should be sat here with a few more points but it's important that we finish the season well.

On making the Play-Offs...
You have to be realistic. Peterborough are too far ahead but we need to try and finish as strong as we can try and get ready for next year.

On goals scored...
The 'keeper will probably feel he should have done better. We had a couple of great chances at the end of the first half and a couple of great chances to win the game at the start of the second half. That's the story of the last few weeks - we haven't finished teams off.

On injuries...
Nathan Thompson tweaked his groin. He's a doubt for Tuesday.
