STFC Ladies Under-16s: Call-ups and Cup Finals

8 May 2014

IT has been an amazing year for the STFC Ladies section with title challenges, cup finals and a first England call-up.

Karolyne Bryom, Town Under-16s midfielder, has been instrumental in the Town side this year and is playing in the Berks County Girls Football League (BCGFL) Cup Final. The match is to be played at Thatcham Town FC on Saturday 10 May with a 12:00 kick-off against Tilehurst.

This will be Karolyne's second opportunity of silverware as she helped England Under-15s win the Bob Docherty Trophy. England won three games against Wales, Republic Of Ireland and Northern Ireland whilst drawing against Scotland and Slovakia, which was enough for them to secure the Trophy. Karolyne played a significant part in England's success and is now fully focused on delivering success for Swindon Town.

The Under-16s from STFC will face a tough test this weekend against a talented Tilehurst team but manager Kelvin Jackson is confident that the Robins can bring home the Trophy: "The girls have played some good football this season," he said. "As long as they play to their full potential, I'm sure that we can win the game."
