Act of Remembrance this evening

4 November 2014

THIS evening, before kick-off against Preston North End, Swindon Town will be holding a minute's silence as an act of Remembrance.

The club have decided to mark the occasion this evening as this is the nearest home game to Armistice Day.

With the nation marking the centenary of the outbreak of World War One, the club hope to re-install a Roll of Honour plaque that once adorned the area above the tunnel before the current Arkell's Stand was built. Pictured above is former Town player, Freddy Wheatcroft, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Great War. To find out more about the proposed plaque, please click here.
