Cooper: It Wasn't To Be

1 November 2014

MARK Cooper spoke to the media after Town’s 2-1 defeat at MK Dons.

On the result…
I’m not too displeased. We played reasonably well. At the start of the second half we didn’t defend properly and we had 5/10 minute wobble. After that we gambled and towards the end it was like a ping pong game but it wasn’t to be. It’s one of them days.

On losing the lead…
Of course we’re concerned but you can’t have the ascendency for 90 minutes. The other team will have a spell and when that happens we have to be able to roll our sleeves up and see it off. We didn’t do that professionally enough today.

On Town’s performance…
We created some really good chances but we have to be a bit more resolute when the game is not going our way. That will come with experience.

On the goal…
It’s a great move and a great ball. Byrney has been kicked 10 foot in the air before that but then Michael Smith puts a great ball in and it’s a good finish. I’m sure he (Obika) is pleased to get back on the scoresheet.
