Cooper: Not Enough Desire

8 November 2014

MARK Cooper spoke to the media after Town's 5-0 defeat at Cheltenham.

On the result...
We started very brightly and we looked composed. It was an incredible decision to send the captain off - that puts us on the back foot. When all's said and done, we shouldn't concede the goals we do even with 10 men. We didn't have enough desire in both penalty boxes today - that's the long and short of it. I expect more from our front players and defenders. If you don't want to stick your head on the ball then you can't win a game of football. We've let everyone down today. We've missed an opportunity today and we have to make sure we defend better than that and be better going forward.

On the red card...
Everybody that was here saw it - I thought it was a joke when I saw the red card come out. It's not even a foul for me. Nathan has not made any contact.

On the opposition...
First thing we have to do is give Cheltenham credit; they got bodies behind the ball, got the break with the red card and made the most of it. We have to look at our own house and get that in order.
