Ladies Face Saints On Sunday

28 November 2014

SWINDON Town travel to face Southampton Saints on Sunday in the FA Women’s Premier League Plate Competition, writes Roger Reeves.

The two sides met in the League a few weeks ago and goals from Meg Attenborough and Beth Thompson gave the Town a share of the points. The Saints are currently in third place in the League four points behind top of the table Town. In the previous round Southampton made the trip to South Yorkshire to beat Leeds whereas the Town travelled to South East London to account for Crystal Palace.

Manager Steve Robertson said: "After last week’s good win against Forest Green we hope to carry that form on into the plate competition. It will not be easy, they are a good team, in fact they were  first team to take points off us, so we are expecting a challenging game."

Alice Smith is not available but apart from that the Town have a full squad to select from for Sunday’s game. Georgia Walters, who sustained a bad knee injury in the last game of the season, after weeks of rehab has started light training.

SQUAD: Robyn Levett, Meg Vella,  Beth Thompson, Lisa Coe, Sam Quinn, Ellie Maynard, Chyna Collings,  Laura Morgan, Sarah Uzzell, Megan Attenborough, Kelly Nightingale, Michelle Rich, Chenise Austin & Sally Butterfield.
