Ladies In Cup Action

10 October 2014

SWINDON Town Ladies face Crystal Palace in an FA Women’s Premier League Plate fixture this weekend, writes Roger Reeves.

The Plate is a competition for clubs who were eliminated in the League Cup. This will be the second trip to south east London for the Town as they travelled to face Charlton Athletic in the League Cup. Palace were dismissed from the Cup competition by Forest Green Rovers. The two sides have never met before in any competition.

Palace play in the FA Women’s Premier League Division One South East, the same level as the Town. The London club are currently in second place in the League.

Manager Steve Robertson said: "After a disappointing result last week it will be good to get back on track again with a good performance. Once again we are away but it will be an opportunity for players who have not featured regularly to stake a place in the team."

The Town are without Michelle Rich and the injured Laura Morgan for Sunday’s game.

SQUAD: Robyn Levett, Meg Vella,  Beth Thompson, Lisa Coe, Sam Quinn, Ellie Maynard, Chyna Collings, Alice Smith, Sarah Uzzell, Megan Attenborough, Kelly Nightingale, Louise Dennis, Chenise Austin & Sally Butterfield.
