Cooper: A Professional Display

27 September 2014

TOWN boss Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon's victory at Barnsley.

On the result...
We weren't too sure how Barnsley were going to approach it. They chose to press us with energy and try and stop us playing out. We knew at some point their energy would go but it was important we kept playing, we kept the back door shut and waited for that moment. Once it happened it was a good performance. I thought it was a professional display.

On Nathan Byrne's goal...
I was having a joke with him before the game saying it was about time he scored. It was a brilliant goal, he was outstanding in the second half. It's another good day for us.

On patience...
If a team choose to press, it's difficult to do it over 90 minutes. It was important that we remained patient. Yes, we'll give the ball away but it's important we stay focused.

On clean sheets...
It's important we keep clean sheets. We had a bit of a wobble which we have to eradicate.
