Cooper: It should have been more comfortable

13 September 2014

MANAGER Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Town’s 2-1 victory at Bradford.

On taking chances…
The game should have been over after an hour with the chances we had. It should have been more comfortable. We shouldn’t be hanging on at the end but that’s what happens when you miss chances.

On the result…
Let’s give Bradford credit: they tried to stop us playing out and tried to press from the front and they made it difficult for us. We conceded a rubbish goal then we got back in it and deserved to be in front at half time.

On Jonathan Obika…
It’s always nice when a new striker gets off the mark with a couple of goals. Him, Michael Smith and ‘Willo’ looked a threat. That will certainly give him a bit of confidence.

On the side’s resilience…
I said to the players it’s great that we have come away (from home) and dug in. Last year we may have caved in. We had to rely on our goalkeeper to make a couple of world class saves.
