LARKHALL ATLETIC      1
SWINDON TOWN         4

Swindon Town Ladies travelled to Somerset to face Larkhall Athletic in a FA Women’s Premier League Division One South West fixture on Thursday evening and won by four goals to one, writes Roger Reeves.

Early play was even but Town’s 'keeper Robyn Levett was brought into action tipping Vicky White’s drive round the post. In the 14th minute Sally Butterfield broke the deadlock when she knocked in Beth Thompson’s cross to put the Town ahead. Both sides were creating chances and Ellie Maynard and Beth Thompson went close for the Town while at the other end two good saves from Robyn Levett prevented Emily Harrison and Tasha Miller from finding the net.

The home side started the second half strongly and were rewarded in the 52th minute when Tash Perry put the sides level. The Town began to take control and in the 61st minute Lisa Coe’s cross field pass found Beth Thompson who drove the ball into the corner of the net.

The hard working Sarah Uzzell increased the Town’s lead in the 78th minute following a goalmouth scramble from a corner. With nine minutes left Sally Butterfield was brought down in the box; Amy Scrivens saw red and Michelle Rich converted the resulting penalty.

A good three points for the Town after a hard working performance.
