SWINDON Town were saddened to hear of the passing of Town fan, Les Williamson on 10th May.

Les had been watching the Town since 1955 and the great Don Rogers was his favourite player of all time. He had already purchased his 2015/16 Don Rogers Stand Season Ticket and, before he passed away, it was Les's final wish that, should he not be able to use his new Season Ticket, that another Town fan be given the chance to come and watch the Town.

After being contacted by his brother Colin, the club were tasked with giving away Les's Season Ticket on his behalf.

Town fan, Alex Webb was one of those who ‘liked’ the post on Facebook and was selected at random to receive Les’s Season Ticket. Manager, Mark Cooper presented Alex with the ticket before Town’s Capital One Cup clash with Exeter City last night.

“It’s touching of his family to do such a competition,” Alex told the official website. “If it wasn’t me then it would be some other person that won it but it’s a fitting tribute.

“The team last season performed excellently and this season could be the same. I now get to watch on behalf of someone who had watched Town for a long time.”
