Cooper Expecting Hard-Working Bury

14 August 2015

MARK Cooper says that it's important that Town prioritise their league fixtures in the wake of the Capital One Cup exit to Exeter City, starting with Saturday's trip to newly-promoted Bury.

Speaking to the official website, the manager expects to come up against a hard-working side tomorrow afternoon.

"The league is our bread and butter," he said. "It's nice to have cup runs but we have a really tiny squad. When you look at our bench at the moment, we can't fight on all fronts and it's important that we prioritise.

"They (Bury) have got two strikers in Leon Clarke and Tom Pope who are proven. You know when you have those two in your team, you've got a chance of scoring goals. They play some good football and they have a lot of athleticism in the team. They work their socks off and they're an epitome of their manager.

"They have got good resources now and they've recruited well. They've got an ambitious, young manager who is forward-thinking and I'm sure they will have a good season.

"They got promoted on the last game of the season - that gives them belief and they'll want to carry that momentunm on. They'll be looking to get another result on Saturday against us."

Finally, the manager revealed that midfielder Drissa Traore would be fit for selection again.
