Thompson: Hopefully That Form Continues

4 December 2015

LOUIS Thompson is hoping his goalscoring form continues after netting twice in his last two games.

The on-loan Norwich midfielder added that Town need to maintain the level of performance they displayed at Chesterfield last weekend.

“Luckily I’ve managed to get two in the last two and hopefully that form continues," he said. "Unfortunately, over the last couple of years I’ve not had much joy when shooting but over the last couple of games I’ve had a bit of luck and they’ve gone in for me.

"The team have hit a bit of better form now. We’re playing better, we’ve still got a way to go but we’re striving to be the best that we can be and as long as we continue in same vein as Chesterfield, we’ll be alright."

With his loan now extended until January the midfielder is looking forward to the festive run of matches.

“Absolutely,” he said when asked whether he was pleased to be staying for another month. “Especially over Christmas there are a lot of games so I’m happy to be on hand to help.”

With no game this weekend, Thompson admits that the break from action will provide Town with an opportunity to prepare for the visit of Rochdale next Saturday.

“It’s one of those things," he said. "We could have done with the rest midweek and a game this Saturday so it’s unfortunate for us but it gives us the chance to prepare properly for Rochdale on 12th.”
