TOWN duo Massimo Luongo and Yaser Kasim have helped their respective nations reach the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup in Australia.

On Thursday, Luongo played 90 minutes as the Socceroos beat China 2-0 thanks to a double from Tim Cahill. Australia will face UAE in their semi-final clash on 27th January.

Iraq, meanwhile, had to negotiate extra time and a penalty shoot-out to secure their place in the last four against Iran. After a 3-3 draw, Kasim was one of the Iraq players who netted from the spot as they sealed a 7-6 win on penalties. They will face Korea on 26th January.
