Williams: Can't Wait To Get Started

10 July 2015

JORDAN Williams says that he is looking forward to the learning curve that awaits him during his loan stint at the County Ground.

Speaking to swindontownfc.co.uk he declared that he was relishing the challenges that League 1 football presents.

“I went on loan last season to Notts County,” he said. “That was a good experience but I just want to come here and play more games. It’s a team that plays a similar way to Liverpool so that’s good for me to learn.

“League 1 is a tough league. I was on loan there last season and I didn’t expect it to be that tough but I enjoyed it. I can’t wait to get started here.”

Friday’s training session was the first time the midfielder had linked up with his new teammates and Williams says that Town’s passing style will suit his game.

“Today was my first day,” he explained. “I trained with Liverpool yesterday and joined up with the team today. The lads are brilliant. I knew Tyrell (Belford) before I came so I spoke to him and he said the lads are great. It’s a young group - I knew that before I came - that likes to play football.

“I’m quite versatile. I’ve played centre-back, central midfield and right-back but coming here will do me the world of good. I like to get the ball down and play. I love to be on the ball.”

Finally, the midfielder revealed why he chooses to be known by his middle name.

“It’s Jordan,” he smiled. “I was named after my dad, Michael but I like to be called Jordan because it’s a bit stupid both of us being called Michael!”
