Cooper: Worthy Winners

7 March 2015

MARK Cooper spoke to the media after Town's 3-0 win over Notts County.

On the result...
It shows a bit of character. I thought we played quite well today, never looked in danger, totally dominated the football and ran out worthy winners in the end.

On half time messages...
We just needed to be a bit cleverer in the final third and produce that bit of quality that would lead to a goal. I didn't feel we were pulling the trigger enough.

On John Swift's goal...
It was a lovely finish. He's got tremendous ability - get him enough of the ball in the right area and he can be a threat.

On the penalty...
It was a big moment to go 2-0 up I couldn't see any way back for them. It certainly made it a lot more comfortable for us.

On the changes in personnel...
We wanted to be a bit more solid in the middle of the pitch. I thought, in transition, we looked more compact with the extra man in there. I didn't feel it took away any of our attacking threats. It's something we tried against Barnsley but we've gone back to it and it worked well today. It's always good to have a 'plan b' isn't it...?
