Cooper: Penalty Save A 'Fairytale'

3 May 2015

MARK Cooper spoke to the media after the 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient at SN1.

On the result...
The sending-off affected us and affected what substitutions we could make. Orient had a lot of energy and it looked to be a matter of time before they scored. In the second half we changed the shape a bit and got a bit of momentum. We could have won it in the end.

On the team selection...
We have got a lot of injuries at the moment - Ben Gladwin, Massimo Luongo, Harry Toffolo, Wes Foderingham - we couldn't use them so it was important we gave some time to players that may feature in the squad for the Play-Offs.

On the goals...
I'd like to claim I've worked on that (Anton Rodgers' goal) but I haven't! I dont think there's anything wrong with Andy (Williams') confidence. He led the line and the goal will obviously help him. He worked really hard.

On Cameron Belford...
Cam is an experienced 'keeper and we knew he could help us if we needed it. It was a fairtyale wasn't it? The 'keeper gets sent off and his brother came on and saved the penalty.
