Fresh from their Swindon Cup success, they entertained Cheltenham Town Ladies at Meadowcroft at the weekend. The weather played a huge part in the game with wet and blustery conditions and it was the Gloucestershire side that used the wind to their advantage taking a 3-1 lead into half time.
Town came out fighting in the second half showing great determination and character and took a 5-3 lead with goals from Sophie Mitchell (2) Florence Ashton (2) and Lois Beer. Cheltenham then fought back to make it 5-4 before Shannon King sealed the game with two late goals to make it 7-4 to the Wiltshire Side.
Jon Holloway, the team manager was once again delighted with his team. "It was great to see such determination from the girls in terrible conditions," he said. "I was impressed with both teams' attitude throughout the game but felt that we were well worth the victory."
Next up for the U14s will be a testing game against Yeovil Town Ladies.
