Cooper: We Didn't Create Enough

3 October 2015

MARK Cooper spoke to the media after defeat at Blackpool.

On the result…
I thought we played quite well today. We had a lot of possession but we didn’t create enough openings to get the goals. I can’t be disappointed with the performance. We dominated the game but our flair players didn’t produce the goods today. I think if we played again it’s impossible to have that amount of possession and not score a goal. We dominated for large spells and deserved to get something out of the game. We’ve just got to keep going. Once we get one, we can go on a run.

On Town in front of goal…
It’s that final ball. The decision on the ball in and around the penalty area and we didn’t have that enough today. From our goal to the edge of their box we were really good but we didn’t produce that quality to get a goal.

On the performance…
I didn’t think we played backwards a lot today. We played on the front foot but there weren’t enough clear-cut chances.

On the goal…
It was a near-post corner and one player didn’t do his job properly. It looks as though it crossed the line.

On the injury to Fabien Robert…
Fab looks as though he’s got a bad ankle injury. We’ll get him scanned over the weekend.
