TO launch a new billboard at the County Ground, Smart Moves have teamed up with Swindon Town Football Club for the first ever Smart Moves Festival.

On Sunday 27th September, the County Ground car park will host a range of free activities, especially aimed at the 16-19 age group, but suitable for all. 

Between 11am and 2pm, visitors can:

•    Test their moped skills
•    Try out the ‘wave rider’ surf board
•    Go behind the scenes of the mobile CCTV police van
•    Get their bike security marked, and checked over by “Doctor Bike” for free
•    Win prizes in our quiz
•    Browse cycle merchandise, and try out a range of electric bikes
•    Pick up information and goodies to help them get up, get out and get moving!

Swindon Borough Council’s Road Safety Manager said: “The aim of the event is to engage young people and offer experiences, advice and services that will help them to make informed travel choices as they become more independent.”

Adam Wainwright, the Commercial Manager at SN1, added: "We were delighted to be able assist the Swindon Travel Choices Team. The relationship is still in its relative infancy but we have already progressed the working relationship with the launch of this, the first ever Smart Moves Festival to be held in the County Ground Car Park. This event also ties in nicely with the launch of the new billboard at the County Ground that forms part of the commercial relationship. 

"Naturally, we are always very keen to engage with the community and the excellent work carried out by the Swindon Travel Choices Team is a great fit to encourage an active lifestyle. We, like them, encourage everyone as part of this scheme, especially the younger audience it is targeting, to look at modes of travel other than the car to get to your destination. Like the slogan says - Get Up, Get Out & Get Moving. We hope the event is a success and look forward to building our relationship with the Swindon Travel Choices team moving forward."
