Cooper On Team News & Barnsley

11 September 2015

MARK Cooper has confirmed that skipper, Nathan Thompson will be back in the Town squad at Barnsley tomorrow afternoon.

The manager also revealed that Jon Obika and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill were still doubts ahead of the trip to Oakwell.

“Nathan Thompson is back in the squad,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk. “Jon will have a fitness test today. Brandon has a dead leg so he’ll be touch and go as well. Jermaine (Hylton) is getting on fine he just needs to concentrate on his fitness work. He’s got another ten days before his scan to find out how far healed the break is. All the international boys have come back fit and healthy and ready to go.”

Cooper reflected on Town’s success the last time the two sides met in Yorkshire and says that he expects another difficult test for his charges on the road.

“We went there last year and did really well,” he said. “It’s a great stadium, a lovely pitch, good supporters and Lee (Johnson) has put a really good squad together there. I’m sure they’ll be looking to finish at least in the top six so it will be a difficult game.

“They’ll try and play, they’ll be expansive, they’ll be energetic and it will be a really tough game.”
