The midfielder began by taking the positives from last weekends' second-half performance at Bradford City.
"The fact we didn’t concede first and foremorst, in a difficult environment," he told www.swindontownfc.co.uk. "Under pressure we showed some good resolve and strength of character and looked the more likely team to score out of the two."
Doughty also tried to explain the role he played in the second forty-five at Valley Parade in an unfamiliar formation.
"Somewhere between midfield and attack but not necessarily defined in tactical terms," he said. "It was important that we threatened them and with the current situation in terms of players, we all need to take different responsibilities and when Luke asked me to play that role I was keen to help the team and we managed to have a bit more purpose in our play."
The Shakers arrive in Wiltshire just a place above Swindon in the League 1 table and the on-loan QPR midfielder admits that he is anticipating a tough game at the County Ground.
"Naturally a tough one," he said. "Two teams still with something to play for and still with something to prove. At this level there are no easy games. We’ve got to show the same tenacity and quality that we’ve shown in previous games that we’ve won in order to do the same on Saturday."
