STLFC in title decider on Sunday

28 April 2016

SWINDON Town Ladies play their final FA Women’s Premier League Division One (South West) fixture of the season on Sunday when they have a visit from Shanklin, writes Roger Reeves.

When the Town travelled to the Isle of Wight, two goals from Meg Vella gave the Town the points. Town took top spot last week with victories over Cheltenham Town and St. Nicholas but Chichester City are close behind to put pressure on the Town to get a result. Shanklin are currently in ninth spot with two games to play.

Manager, Steve Robertson said: "As expected, it is going to be a close finish for the league title. We have got to keep our nerve and continue to fight for every ball as we have done in the past few games. Shanklin are a difficult side to break down so we have we got to be patient. The girls know what is expected of them and will have to work hard to pick up the points."

The Town have a full squad to select from:

SQUAD: Robyn Levett, Alice Smith, Sam Quinn, Chenise Austin, Serena Smith, Ellie Maynard, Alison Witts, Chyna Collings, Alex Hurst, Meg Vella, Abby Piction, Savanaha Winstone, Natalia Haigh, Michelle Rich, Beth Westlake, Sarah Uzzell, Sally Butterfield and Meg Attenborough.

The game will be played at Shrivenham FC, Barrington Park, Shrivenham, SN6 8BJ and will kick-off at the later time of 2pm.
