Delfouneso pens one-year deal

18 August 2016

TOWN have completed the signing of striker, Nathan Delfouneso on a one-year deal subject to EFL and FA approval.

The former England Under-21 international moves to Wiltshire following his release by Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season.

After starting his career at Aston Villa, Delfouneso also represented Burnley, Coventry City, Leicester City and Blackpool.

Speaking to swindontownfc.co.uk, the frontman says that he is looking forward to the challenge at SN1.

“It was nice being wanted,” he said. “They (Swindon) were very keen to have me from the first time I spoke to the manager and the people behind the scenes. I can’t wait to get going.”

“It’s a young squad. You can tell there is a very good spirit in the squad and among the staff as well. It feels like a good vibe here. It’s nice the club have faith in me. Hopefully I can use that and we can be successful together.

“It’s a very attacking team. As long as I get the chances and I’m in the right positions then it’s down to me to put them away and I believe that I can. It’s down to me to ensure I have a good input and can contribute to the team.”

He added: “Last year was a bit of a frustrating year. I got injured which didn’t help. Now I feel good and I feel I need to get going again. I’m in a good place, I’ve got great support from my family and I’m looking forward to the challenge."
