Speaking to swindontownfc.co.uk, the wing-back also reflected on Town’s victory in the weekend’s curtain-raiser.
“It was definitely a good win,” he said. “In the first half you could see there were a few sloppy moments from us and there was a bit of rustiness from the boys with it being the first game of the season but in the second half we came into our own, controlled the game and created a lot of chances and we’re probably unfortunate it’s ended 1-0.
“It’s a massive win. We’ve had a really good pre-season and I don’t think any of us have focused on the results too much. It’s more about how we’ve played and getting minutes under your belt. A lot of fans were nervy coming into this off the back of a few losses in pre-season but Coventry are a good side and they’ll be up there this season and these are the games we’ve got to be winning if we want to be up there as well.”
He added: “It’s a big plus to get man of the match but I’ll take the three points over that any day of the week.”
Brophy then turned his attention to Wednesday’s EFL Cup Round 1 clash with QPR at Loftus Road.
“We want to go there and give a good account of ourselves and hopefully progress,” he said. “I used to have a season ticket at QPR so I used to go every week with my mate and I’m not even a QPR fan! It will be nice to go there and play on a personal note but we’re not going there to just play the game, we’re going there to win.”
