LN: It's going to be a joy to play

9 August 2016

LUKE Norris says that it will be a joy to be a part of the style of play at SN1 after facing Town four times over the past two seasons for previous employers, Gillingham.

The striker put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the club on Saturday and is delighted to have made a permanent switch to Wiltshire.

“I’m really happy,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk. “It was all done quite quickly but when I heard the interest and got speaking I was all set that I would really like to come here. I’m really happy to get it all done and it’s been a good first few days.

“Everyone knows how Swindon play. I’ve played in this league for the past couple of years and every time you play against Swindon you know the quality they have in passing and it’s always a joy to watch. Now it’s going to be a joy to play in it as well. Training has been very sharp and it’s looking good.”

Norris could make his Swindon debut at QPR tomorrow evening (7.45pm KO) in the first round of the EFL Cup at Loftus Road and has targeted adding to his goals tally as well as helping the team during his time at the County Ground.

“First of all I’d like to hope I can get a few goals here,“ he said. “That’s the main thing. But also to help the team and work on finishing as high as we possibly can. There are a lot of good teams in this league and I’d like to think we can push on.

“It will be a great first game (against QPR) if I am involved. It’s a great stadium against a very good side and I’m looking forward to it.”
