Doughty Relishing Boxing Day Showdown With Millwall

26 December 2016

Michael Doughty can’t wait to pit his wits against Millwall today (3pm Kick-Off) and is looking forward to the challenge of trying to take three points back to SN1.

“Boxing Day is synonymous with football and you tend to get higher gates and a positive festive atmosphere around the place, so it is always a good time,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“It is a difficult time for us players obviously but it is a time we all enjoy.

“We had a really good game against Millwall at The County Ground towards the end of last season and it was full-blooded and a high tempo game – we expect the same on Boxing Day.

“The Den isn’t an easy place to go so we all need to make sure we’re fully prepared and ready for that challenge.

“Millwall beat Charlton convincingly last week but so did we and I don’t think we’ll be able to read into that too much.

“It is just important for us to build on what was a pretty decent performance against Fleetwood and we want to pick up three points.”
