Avon Tyres, the official partner of Swindon Town Football Club, last week opened a new state of the art warehouse in Wiltshire.
Under the umbrella of Cooper Tire Europe, the new Avon Tyres warehouse is located at The Spectrum Building in Swindon and has the capacity to store 400,000 tyres.
Designed by British Architect Lord Norman Foster, the 211,000-square-foot building first opened in 1982 and was used as a backdrop in the James Bond film ‘A View To A Kill’ in 1984.
Tyres from both Cooper Tire Europe and Avon Tyres are being stored at the new facility which is already fully operational. The new warehouse has also created 17 new jobs in the area.
Town Captain Nathan Thompson was present at the official opening and helped Avon Tyres celebrate the landmark day.
