Lawrence Vigouroux is determined to help Town get the festive period off to a bang by recording a victory over Fleetwood Town at SN1 this Saturday (3pm Kick-Off).
The Reds welcome the Cod Army to SN1 this weekend in what is their final home game of 2016 and the shotstopper wants to deliver an early Christmas present to Town fans by securing all three points.
“It was a disappointing result last weekend away at Sheffield United but we’ve knuckled down this week, we’ve worked hard, nobody is hiding and we’re all in it together,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.
“It will be good to start off the festive period with a win and three points.
“It will be a tough game and they are unbeaten in their last few games so it will be another one of those games where we will have to be bang at it from the very beginning.
“Our home form hasn’t been that bad so we need to make The County Ground a fortress again, which is the most important thing.
“We’ve just got to deal with Fleetwood the way we would with any other side and we’ve been quite strong at the back at home, so we’ve got to be ready for anything they throw at us but we’ll be prepared and hopefully we can get three points.
“We’ve got to start the festive period with a win because we can’t go into games against Millwall and MK Dons off the back of two defeats in the league.
“We’re better than that and we have to prove that to ourselves and more importantly the fans and the staff – we are much better than our league position suggests.”
