SWINDON TOWN - 2
The Town celebrated a return to league football in their first game since the start of November, with a two goals to nil victory over Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, writes Roger Reeves.
The Town had the better of the first half but were unable to break through the Shanklin defence and found the home 'keeper in fine form. In the 65th minute, Meg Vella broke the deadlock when she met Michelle Rich’s cross at the far post to score from close range.
Ten minutes later the Town were two up when Vella won a one-on-one with a home defender to slot the ball past the advancing 'keeper.
A professional performance from the Town and a deserved three points.
