Williams Previews Gillingham Test

5 February 2016

LUKE Williams expects Nicky Ajose and Jordan Turnbull to be available for selection on Saturday against Gillingham after the pair missed Tuesday's defeat to Port Vale through injury.

Speaking to STFC PlayerHD, the Town boss also revealed that Raphael Rossi-Branco would be sidelined for a little longer as his injury heals properly.

"We're expecting Nicky and Jordan Turnbull to be fine," he said. "Rapha will take a little bit longer. It (the injury) needed time to settle down otherwise it could become a serious injury."

Town travel to Kent off the back of two 1-0 defeats at the hands of Barnsley and Port Vale yet Williams feels that his team can impose their own game on the Gills.

"They're a tough side to play against anywhere as we saw at the County Ground," he said. "That said, we still feel we can go there and impose ourselves and win.

"Theyve got a fantastic player playing at the top of midfield - Bradley Dack - who's got real quality. As a unit they all know their roles and they're very well-drilled. They've got a very good manager so there are plenty of strengths in there and a couple of outstanding players.

"If we don't all work week-in, week-out we can come unstuck because no opposition you play are going to let you off the hook in this division. Everyone's fighting for everything so we need to match that first and see if our ability can do the rest."
