MICHAEL Doughty admits that he will have to work hard to earn a place in the Town side after joining on loan from Queen’s Park Rangers.

Since signing last Friday, the midfielder added that he has settled quickly into life in Wiltshire.

“The lads have helped me settle in,” he told STFC PlayerHD. “Training has been really enjoyable and the last few days have been really good, getting to know the style of play and how the manager want us to go forward.

“I realise there is a good team of players here so I’m going to have to work hard to do that (play regular football) and be a part of a team that’s developing and pushing up the table. If I can contribute to that and improve myself that would be great.”

Doughty also described what Town fans could expect from him in Swindon colours.

“I’m a left-footed midfielder,” he said. “I can play anywhere across the midfield - preferably centrally - and I’m going to try and bring energy to the game and creativity on the ball but I won’t say too much. I’ll let my football do the talking.”
