STLFC Host Spurs This Weekend

14 January 2016

SWINDON Town Ladies hope to be in cup action on Sunday when the re-arranged home tie against Tottenham Hotspur in the second round of the SSE Women’s FA cup, writes Roger Reeves.

The two sides have never met as Spurs play in the Southern Premier Division, one stage above the Town. After fifteen games they have 22 points and are in sixth spot. Spurs joined the competition at this round whereas the Town have already accounted for Long Lane, Larkhall and Old Actonians.

Manager Steve Robertson said: "Hopefully we can get a game played this weekend as we have not played since before Christmas. We will obviously be starting as underdogs but it is the FA cup and anything can happen.

"We are certainly looking forward to testing ourselves against a team from a higher division. We know that they are a good footballing side so we are hoping for a good game."

SQUAD: Robyn Levett, Alice Smith, Sam Quinn, Serena Smith, Ellie Maynard, Alison Witts, Chyna Collings, Michelle Rich, Beth Westlake, Alex Hurst, Chenise Austin, Sally Butterfield and Meg Attenborough.

Sunday’s game will be played at Shrivenham FC, Barrington Park, Shrivenham SN6 8BJ and will kick-off at 2pm.
