Speaking to STFC PlayerHD, the Town boss also believes that the team did enough to have earned three points in last weekend’s draw at Sheffield United and that Saturday’s encounter with the Blades’ Yorkshire rivals will be an interesting game.
“We want the team to be competitive,” he said. “To go into every game to win home and away and I think the players are showing that mentality at the moment.”
“Although we wanted to come away with a win (from Sheffield United) I think the boys played well and they did enough to deserve to win.”
“They (Barnsley) are a good side,” he continued. “We’ve got to play our game and worry about our game as well as trying to stop Barnsley. It will be interesting because both teams have shown they can score goals.
“They’ve got players in the team that can finish so if you give them an opportunity and give them space then it’s a problem.”
