Williams: Very Pleased

23 January 2016

TOWN Manager, Luke Williams spoke to the media after Swindon's 1-1 draw at Sheffield United.

On the point...
Very pleased. This is a very tough place to come and play. I thought the performance was really good and in the end we're a bit disappointed not to go away with three points. I enjoyed the performance and seeing the players give everything.

On the performance...
What we saw on the pitch is fair to say is drive and determination and an attacking stance. To be honest I expected the boys to come and dominate the ball. That's not taking anything away from Sheffield United but I expected the boys to have the lion's share of the ball. Sheffield United are fantastic at defending their box so we knew it was going to be difficult. I asked players to break inside the box and that’s where the goal came from and that was our way in.

On the penalty...
It's difficult because the player's heading into the box and it's difficult for Jordan (Turnbull) to step aside so he holds his ground and the referee makes a decision. We have to accept that.

On Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill's equaliser...
It's helped his confidence no end and I think it's been coming. He's started to experiment more with running at people and he's starting to get a few shots on goal. Now he’ll believe in himself more and more.

On debutant, Michael Doughty...
Michael gave everything today. You could see his qualities. He's played in the Championship so we knew he had quality but we’ve also seen today that he's bought into the group quickly.
