The Town Head Coach put out two different XIs in either half and admits that it would be hard to criticise any of his players for their performances.
"(To see) so many of the boys in good physical shape this early on was pleasing," he said. "The manner in which they tried to go about their business today - to try and play with control and take the game seriously as a contest was very pleasing. I think it's hard to criticise any of the players today.
"What's more impressive is that the players have taken it upon themselves to look after themselves over the summer and get a head start (in their pre-season fitness work). It showed today: they looked, at a very early stage in pre-season, very trim."
On next week's trip to Ireland, he added: "(It will be a) chance for the players to bond a bit. They’ll be with each other morning, noon and night and forced to get on with each other. It's also a chance to focus on some work without any distractions like friends and family and try to really embed some ideas."
