The frontman moved into double figures for the season and declared that the home side's patience against Rovers paid dividends with goals in either half securing a fourth win in a row.
"We're pleased with the performances," he told the media after the game. "We’re on good form so it's good to continue this. I thought we were patient in possession and we got our rewards with the goal just before half time.
"It (the first goal) was a good counter from the team. We all came up together because we worked on that in training and I'm glad it paid off. I just thought "it's coming to me" - I knew I was onside because I came from deep so just got the touch. (For the second goal) You try and get across your defender. I couldn’t so had to use a bit of strength and finish in the end.
"As a striker you always want to get on the end of things and finish moves. If the team is winning and I can contribute then I'm happy."
On securing a clean sheet, Obika added: "Lawrence and the back four deserved that so I'm happy for them."
