FA CUP: Williams Provides Injury Update Ahead Of First Round Replay

14 November 2016

Town Head Coach Luke Williams has provided an injury update on his squad ahead of Tuesday night’s Emirates FA Cup First Round Replay against Eastleigh at The County Ground…

ON JAMES BROPHY:

“We are waiting for a Cardiologist to look at the trace that he’s been wearing for some time to make sure there are no irregularities, but of course that takes time.

“I’m sure he’s very busy with plenty of cases so we’re nudging him as politely as we can to make sure, but at the same time we don’t want to take a risk with James.”

ON JORDAN STEWART AND JORDAN YOUNG:

“We’ve got surgery scheduled in for Jordan Stewart to tidy up the cartilage inside his knee and we expect Jordan Young to be in full training.

“It is difficult for Jordan Stewart but these things happen in football and there’s no telling when you are going to pick something up. It seems to add insult to injury when you are doing well.”

ON LUKE NORRIS:

“There’s something in the ankle that is not quite right and there is a slight weakness there that he needs to work on, but it doesn’t appear to be anything at the moment that suggests it will be long-term.

“It is something that is niggling away at him.”

ON NATHAN THOMPSON AND JON OBIKA:

“Nathan Thompson is ongoing for the time being but is healing very well at the moment.

“We expect Jon Obika to be very much involved in full training.”
